Introduction

David Halbstein is an Assistant Professor of 3D Digital Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Originally from New Jersey, David has extensive experience working in the broadcast, film, and commercial industries in the New York Metropolitan area; and has taught in this field in both traditional degree-granting institutions and intensive corporate training centers.

David spearheaded and ran the first Autodesk Corporate Training center in New York, where he taught staff members from such varied backgrounds as Blue Sky Studios, Bose Audio, the FBI, The United States Army, Merck Pharmaceuticals, and several TV stations and universities around the country.

David taught 3D Digital Graphics and Animation at the School of Visual Arts and at New York University before moving to Rochester in the fall of 2010. With a background in fine arts, David is primarily interested in discovering new directions in creative expression through the marriage of traditional ideas with new technology.
