High Priest of Nevada Chapter No. 56, Commander of O'Sullivan Commandry No. 15, Worthy Patron Nevada Chapter No. 53, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine. Served as Cubmaster, Asst. Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, Webelos Leader, Unit Commissioner of Cub Pack No. 43 and Scout Troop No. 55. Holder of the Golden Sun, Silver Beaver, Most Devoted Scouter, District Merit Award, District Health and Safety Chairman of Big 3 District.

    Married Edna Crosswhite of Walker, Mo. November 19, 1939, her parents were W.P. Crosswhite, father, mother, Tilles Ozenberger of Walker, Mo. Ednwa was born at Walker, Mo. August 25, 1918. Edna has been a member of the First Baptist Church 38 years, served as Sunday School teacher, Training Union leader, W.M.U. president, G.A. leader. Also a member of Nevada Chapter No. 53 Order of Eastern Star. President of Business and Professional Women, President of National Hair Dressers. Edna owns her own beauty shop in Nevada.

    Richard and Edna have three children. Linda Place Evans married Lanny Evans June, 1961, lives at Vibrnum, Mo., Patricia Place Cosgrove married Jim Cosgrove September, 1971 and lives at Republic, Mo. A son, Richard E. Place, Jr. lives in Nevada, Mo., also a graduate of Southwest Missouri State College - not married. Richard and Edna have three grandsons, Linn Evans, Lane Evans, students at University of Missouri, Rolla, Mo. School of MInes, Lyle Evans, a sophomore at Vibrnum High School, Vibrnum, Mo.
