Last Will and Testament
George Alcorn, (1754-1829)

In the name of God, Amen. This 10th day of March, One Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty Nine, I, George Alcorn, of Washington Township in Westmoreland County in the State of Pennsylvania, being weak of body but of sound mind and Memory, considering the uncertainty of this present transitory life, Do make this my last Will and Testament, revoking any former Will or Wills by me heretofore made.

First and principally I commend my Immortal Soul to God who gave it and my Body to the Earth to be Buried with a Decent Christian like manner and as to what Worldly property it has pleased God to bestow upon me in this Life I Give and Bequeath in the following manner Viz:

Item first, I allow all my Just and Lawful Debts and funeral Expenses to be paid by my executors here and after mentioned.

Item 2nd I give and Bequeath unto my Beloved Wife Nancy all the Benefits Arising from my Tract of Land in the So. Township of Washington Adjoining Lands of Alexander Walker, Jacob Pipers Widow beyond and others during her Natural Life and at her Decease I allow my two sons George and John Alcorn to have it Share and share alike.

Likewise, I give and bequeath unto my wife Nancy all my household and kitchen furniture and one Cow and three Sheep and I allow my two sons to sow unto my P. wife one half bushel of flaxseed each and every year during her natural life.

Likewise, I allow my daughter Jane Alcorn one Horse Creature valued at forty-five Dollars.

Likewise I allow my daughter Martha McIlvain to get one Horse valued at forty-five Dollars and two milck cows.

Likewise I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Sloan five dollars.

Likewise I give and bequeath unto my two sons George and John Alcorn all the money that is coming from Andrew Gaitley for the land sold to him in Salem Township by my son John Alcorn.

Likewise I give unto the said George and John all the livestock of Horses, Cows, Sheep, and Hogs that I possess. Those above mentioned excepted likewise I constitute and appoint my two sons George and John Alcorn Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I give them full power and authority to execute the same. Signed and sealed in the presence of us who at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses.
